About K-9 Kollege

K-9 Kollege is committed to providing handlers and their dogs with quality dog training. Training is not done in crowded classes; it is one-on-one training with the trainer.  At the initial consultation, the trainer will ask you what aims you have for your dog.  Do you want a well-behaved house pet?  Do you want to do therapy dog work?  Your training will be customized to fit your needs. Plenty of other training tips can also be found at lifestylepets.org.

Linda Lambert, the owner/trainer, is highly-qualified with 45 years’ experience in training dogs and horses.

Training consists of six weekly one-hour sessions with the trainer. You as the handler will leave with homework to prepare for the next week’s session.  You as the handler will be given individualized, customized instructions so that you can train your dog. You (and your dog) will learn specific commands such as heel, sit, stay/wait, down, come, leave it, place, and stand.  Therapy dogs will learn additional commands such as “say hello” and to become familiar with walkers, wheelchairs and canes. If you have special needs, please contact K-9 Kollege directly to discuss those needs.

Training collars and custom leather leashes are available for a price upon request.

The training site is a public park.  This is to afford the dog and handler the experience of distractions plus learning proper and acceptable behavior while surrounded by joggers, tennis ball/pickle ball courts, ducks, geese, water, other dogs, maintenance quads, sprinklers, and children.

After training is completed in a satisfactory manner, graduates will receive a certificate suitable for framing.  Graduates are also eligible for a maximum of two (2) free “refreshers” at any time.  Refreshers consist of a review of all the basic commands that were taught in the original training.
